Syväska nr 2 My second Bionic Gear Bag

I helgen sydde jag ytterligare en syväska. Det finns två olika modeller att köpa, en som kallas Sew Together Bag med tre blixtlåsfickor och en som kallas Bionic Gear Bag. Modellerna verkar snarlika, men BGB har konstruerats med  fyra fickor och det blir en bricka att vika ut, när man öppnar den fullt ut.
Jag har sytt BGB.s väskorna och är helnöjd. Mönstret är som jag tidigare skrev inte speciellt pedagogiskt, men det finns fyra gratisfilmer som man kan följa under sömnaden. Där finns inga mått, så man måste ha mönstret för att få måtten till väskan.

I have made another Bionic Gear Bag during the weekend. As I have written in my former post concerning my Laurel Burch bag, the pattern is hard to follow. But there are very good films at Youtube with very good instruction.

Jag valde att sy väskan i Tula Pinks serie Acacia med de söta tvättbjörnarna.

I have chosen to sew the bag in Tula Pink´ s Acacia with the cute raccoons.

Här kan du få med allt vad du behöver när du skall i väg och sy, som rullkniv, saxar, trådrullar, små linjaler, sprättkniv och lite mer bra att ha. På den främre delen kan du placera nåldyna och ask med dina wonder clips, som jag älskar.

You could bring with you all your necessities  except the kitchen sink when you are going to a quilt retreat.

Denna syväska har jag sytt till min väninna Karin och jag hoppas att hon kommer att tycka om den lika mycket som jag gillar den.

This bag is for my friend Karin and I hope she will love it and use it as a good sewing companion.

Min nya syväska Bionic Gear Bag

För flera månader sedan hittade jag en sybehörsväska på nätet, som jag gärna ville sy. Fast egentligen startade det med en Sew Together Bag, som jag inte lyckades få ihop till att passa. Så det projektet lade jag ner.
Jag inhandlade mönstret till Bionic Gear Bag , mer information hittar ni HÄR , började glad i hågen med att sy en framsida av små lappar från Laurel Burch.

Several months ago I fell in love with a sewing purse that I wanted to make. I started with buying the pattern, you will get the information HERE . I have planned to make a scrappy outside with some of my favorite scraps from Laurel Burch.

Men sedan skulle jag fortsätta och mönstret som var minst sagt vältaligt gjorde ju ingen människa glad. Men som väl var finns det filmer på Youtube som man kan följa. Så utav det 82 sidor långa mönstret så var det bara i princip sidorna med måtten och mallen till sidorna som jag använde.
Resten sydde jag med hjälp av filmerna.

I started to read the pattern, but there were so lot of pages with descriptions without pictures, so the pattern layed untouched several weeks until I found a group on FB and four films on youtube, with instructions that I followed.
Of the 82 pages of instructions in the pattern I have only read three pages  and used the template for the sides.

I am so happy for my Bionic Gear Bag and maybe I will make another one for my friend. All material for the bag comes from my stash.

Väskan är inte svår att sy, bara man följer de olika stegen och inte har för tjockt mellanlägg.
Det blir nog en till som en behövande vän kan få. Och tyger har jag ingen brist på. Dessutom skall jag sy ett litet etui till mina Wonder clips.

Min väska invigde jag i helgen då jag var i Magnarp och sydde tillsammans med Gåsakviltarna. Jättetrevligt med många skratt och mängder av kreativitet.

Tea for Two / My version

The pattern for this blog hop was designed and made by Cori Blunt at Chitter Chatter Design.

I must say that I hesitated a while before I signed for this hop. I haven´t any idea what I should make with the wonderful patterns. But it was only one week ago that I realized  so many possibilities there were to create something useful, fun and beautiful with some of the patterns.

I had no intension to stitch the cups and roses, the ladies who was speeding for the dates would be fun to stitch up in something useful.

What do you think I could use this for?

To carry my shoes for a party of course.

I have used simple wax crayons for the legs and shoes. 

As you could see the bag is constructed from only one tall rectangle and then sewn together with french seams.

The technique was shown to me from a Danish quilt designer. 

It is April now and I was lucky  take the pictures in the morning as it started to rain later in the day.

Bird Tree / My Birds

Some of you know that I love birds. And most of all my boys Knut and Sixten, my cute cockatiels.
They are eighteen and nine years by now and they could live to be thirty years old if they don´t get any diseases.

Don´t you think they are cute. The bird with most grey color in is feathers  is the older one Knut.

As I couldn´t resist the blog hop and could´t find the fabric in Sweden I have to find some other fabric with birds. I have of course some of that in my stash.

Some years ago I have bought a lovely linen blended cotton of the Japanese brand Kokka with cockatiels in different colors. As I had a purple linen in my stash I picked out pink and yellow bird fabric which could sing together with the purple linen.

I need a new summer purse and created this one for me.

It was cold out side but the sun was shining and there were some green to have as a fond for my purse.

Don´t you think it look like summer already. This shrub is always green even in winter.

If you look close you could see the flower buds on the tree.

Yes it is spring here in Sweden too, even if we got some snow yesterday. But it disappeared in a hurry.

I am so happy for my purse, even if it is a very simple purse I thought that it made the fabric to sing as the birds.

Elefantparaden växer / My growing elephant parade

Min elefantparaden har vuxit med fjorton små elefanter. Än så länge utan ögon, men det kommer.

My elephant parade is growing. There are now fourteen small elephants.

Igår kunde jag inte låta bli att sy ytterligare två block. Den väldigt coola grodan och den tuffa sköldpaddan.
Så nu återstår det några fåglar och några blommor. Snart dags att sätta ihop allting.

I could´t resist making more blocks. Don´t you think the frog and the turtle are so cool and cute.

We will support you

Vi har alla säkert några vänner som har drabbats av bröstcancer. Madame Samm på Sew We Quilt håller tillsammans med Pat Broe en blog hop, där vi skall sy något med tanke på dem som drabbats.
Hon tänkte då på symboliken med en behå, för det är verkligen något som stödjer oss kvinnor.
Madame Samm ritade ett mönster på en behå, som vi fick använda som vi ville.

We have surely some one in our life that has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Madame Samm had this in mind, when she organized this blog hop together with the cheerleader Pat Broe.

Jag förstorade mönstret till 400 % och visst det blev en gigantisk applikation. Och den måste sitta på något, så därför började jag med att konstruera hjärtat av kvadrater. Det fick bli kantigt som kontrast till de runda formerna i behån.

I have enlarged the pattern from Madame Samm to 400% and this appliqué became very large. And where to put it?? I pieced a big  edgy hart of only squares with contrast to the round forms in the bra.

As I had some abstinens problem with the FMQ I have gone crazy with my machine quilting with my  sewing machine. It was so fun to quilt again. It must have been some months ago since I have FMQ. 

Jag hade verkligen abstinens från att inte ha frihandskviltat på länge, så jag gick verkligen loss med min symaskin. Det var jättekul.

The spring is here for some days and I really enjoyed taking picture outside.

Yes, I love the fabric from Laurel Burch and it makes me so happy.Orange together with pink and red is so feminine don´t you think so?

Det är Laurel Burch tyger som jag har i behån. Visst är det läckert med orange tillsammans med cerise och rött?

It was so fun to make this quilt and I hope that the quilt will enjoy someone else as I have decided to include it in a lottery to benefit the Breast cancer research. We will have our annual Swedish Quilt Guild Meeting in October, why it will be a good occasion to have this kind of lottery.

Det var så trevligt att sy kvilten och jag hoppas att den kan glädja någon annan. Jag kommer därför att lotta ut den till förmån för Bröstcancerfonden när Rikstäcket har årsmöte i oktober i Upplands Väsby i år.

Elefant paraden / Elephant Parade

Har ni sett Elefantparaden, som Lorna har på sin blogg Sew Fresh Quilts. En gullig parad som också innehåller en groda, sköldpadda och några blommor.
Jag föll för den och startade med de stora elefanterna. Det var svårt att välja tyger, men blommiga elefanter är ju inte fel.

I suppose that you have seen The Elephant Parade, that Lorna on Sew Fresh Quilts has as a QAL på sin blog.
i have choosen fabric with flowers for the large elephants and I think they all turn out so cute.
