Ruffles, oh no, not for me. I am not in ruffles at all.
But it is very hard to resist madame Samm´s challenges, and after thinking one hour or two, LOL, I jumped right in the adventure with ruffles. Several years ago I have made a lime green purse with ruffles, which I have used a lot when it was new. I have bought the pattern, when I was at a quilt retreat in Lousiana 2006 and found the pattern right away.
The purse/bag is named The Trixie bag and it is still on the market. You will find it here.
I wanted to make the purse more firm and with other kind of handles and also to put in a zipper closure. I have used purple linen for the body of the purse and pink linen for the lining. And as ruffles are very hungry for fabric a lot of different Kaffe Fasset fabric for the ruffles.

The purse was very fun to make and could be a real conversations piece.
Warm thanks to cheering lady Amy at Sew Incredibly Crazy and lovely Madame Samm for this fun blog hop and I will follow the ruffles each day with excitement and will be delighted of all the creativity.
Now hop over to the other participating ladies of the day and enjoy their ruffles.
Hill Valley Quilter (that´s me)
Have a great day blog hopping and all the rest of the days with ruffles.

Vilken häftig volangväska, kanske får se den idag i Förslöv! Kram
SvaraRaderaOh, it's beautiful!! I love the ruffles and the colors... great job :)
SvaraRaderaThat is a beautiful bag. Kaffe Fassett makes great ruffles. I think you are really a ruffle person in disguise.
SvaraRaderaWhat a lovely bag. Does it have lots of weight due to the use of so much fabric used to make the ruffles? I love bags with a good weight to them. Love the solid linen fabric you used! And your rose is magnifique, no doubt there! Beautiful project!
SvaraRaderaLove the colors, love the bag.. beautiful!!
SvaraRaderaHi, Brit-Inger. What a fabulous, wonderful use of those KF fabrics! A riot of colour, for sure. I have a stack of those bold prints and now you've given me an idea of how to use them rather than in a quilt (I have too many of those!). Thanks for sharing today. I'm really jealous that you are having Spring already in Sweden. We just had a big snow storm this week. We all are yearning for Spring here in Washington, DC!
SvaraRaderaWhat a pretty bag. Love the colors you choose.

This is such a cute, cute purse--I love it! Oh, no, not for me, but for my daughter and granddaughters it would be perfect. And, I love that I can actually see green in your photos! Our spring is surely on its way!
SvaraRaderaBritt! That is a BEAUTIFUL bag!! You are far braver than I as I was scared off by the ruffles ... I know, I know ... a challenge, but still ... you did a marvelous job and love the colors! Thank you so much for sharing and GREAT JOB! :)
SvaraRaderaIt is definitely magnefique! :)
SvaraRaderaI absolutely love your bag. For a non-ruffly person like you (and me), it seems the solution is ruffle overkill. When there are so many ruffles, you don't focus on the ruffles, but on the gorgeous fabrics and the overall texture. I would definately use a bag like this, but I would never have pictured something with ruffles for me!
SvaraRaderaJust amazing! This is the best bag I have ever seen. The fabric, the colors, layers if ruffles and the fabric flower tops it off. I bet it is prettier than the one made by the pattern maker. Pretty, pretty, pretty.
SvaraRaderaBeautiful bag..love the colors and fabrics!!! Thanks for sharing :)
SvaraRaderaCute, cute. I love those ruffles, the colors, and the ruffley flower. Adding the zipper closure was a super idea.
SvaraRaderaYour bag is sure to be an eye-catcher when you use it! I like the flower too.
SvaraRaderaBritt...it is darling. I didn't think I was a ruffles girl but I'm luving ruffles more and more. Great job...thanks for sharing!! Happy stitching, Pauline
SvaraRaderaYour bag is absolutely stunning! Love everything about it.
SvaraRaderaStunning bag!!! I would love a bag like this, thanks for sharing.
SvaraRaderaEn riktig färgspruta. Härlig.
SvaraRaderaHello Britt Inger, I absolutely adore your ruffled bag and it is in purples my favourite colour. You did a beautiful job making it and although ruffles are not something I usually choose I would definitely choose that bag. Blessings Sandra
SvaraRaderaBeautiful bright fabric for a fun bag. Great job! ~Shari
SvaraRaderaGorgeous the way that your purse turned out and I think that the flower is lovely.
SvaraRaderaYou have created a beautiful bag! I love the ruffles and the flower! Thanks for sharing.
I love the fabric and the ruffles on your bag, reminds me of spring. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
SvaraRaderaYou knew from making the first one what you might change and that is a help! Make it your own, right? I'm not a ruffles person either but when you make something in a color you love then I bet it will grow on you and you will be getting plenty of compliments as it is YOUR creation. Well done, Britt Inger.
SvaraRaderaWoW!! LOVE the colors of your purse!
SvaraRaderaWonderful bright colours, and a great finish on your bag:)
SvaraRaderaI like the colors of your purse. The flower is ruffled as well and looks great on the purse. Thank you for sharing.
SvaraRaderaWonderful bag! Purple is my favorite color and this is fabulous. The Kaffe prints will be a great conversation piece. Thank you for sharing in the fun.
SvaraRaderaThe pattern you chose for the bag is perfect. I like that you altered it to suit your needs (wants) after having made one from the pattern. The rose is just the icing on the cake.
SvaraRaderaA friend of mine made a purse for her mother for Mother's Day. Her mother gave it back and asked her daughter to put some sort of flap (closure) over the top of it. I was astonished that someone would give a gift back and ask for a modification!!!
Thanks for participating. The bag reminds of spring and all the flowers beginning to bloom.
Hi!!! It is beautiful and I do love the fabric rose!!!!
SvaraRaderasome how I missed you on the hop. I'm glad I back tracked your e-mail message. Your purse is beautiful and definitely puts spring in the picture.
