Wake up to Kona / Kona sätter färg

There are a flood of color round and round the quilt world. You could really paint with solid colors today, which has been possible thanks to Kona Cotton solid. But I am sorry to say that this wave of playing with solid colors  has not yet reached the Swedish quilters.
I have only found one Swedish quilt shop, that has some some Kona FQ bundles and some charm packs to choose among.

I started to buy from an internet shop in US some charmpacks and a bundle Kona Cotton , all Sunrise and Amanda Murphy´s book, which inspired me very much. I have one favorite in the book, the quilt called Circus, which I will make in the spring.

I thought that I needed some small table cloths now, when it is so grey out side, no snow at all here in the south of Sweden, to a kick off for Spring. There was no light enough outside  to take some smashing pictures, and really dark inside too, but I have tried my best.

I have started with this charmpack, and there are some left over charms   to use for later projects.

I found a pattern Round and Round that Thimble Blossoms has made and fall in love with that pattern. As the block is big 22 ", I thought that one block would be a good size for the small table cloth that I needed.
As the block only needed 8 charms there should be 32 charms left to play with for the next project.
There is an instruction in the pattern which give you four half square triangles in an easy way.

For this table cloth I have chosen the brighter shades from the charm pack to form the stars. Then I could´t stop FMQ, it is so fun, even if I am still quite new for this.

Yes,  there were 32 charms left from the first charm pack and I have had an idea long time to play more with wonky stars. I think these type of stars are so charming. This time I have played with tiny and small stars, the tiny are 3 "blocks and the small are 6 " blocks.

It was so fun to sew this table cloth, that I have started another one this time from a charm pack with patterns. I have also the intension to make  a pattern to sell , why it is a good idea to use a different charmpack to show different looks.

Like the first table cloth I took a new exercise of FMQ, which I really enjoyed.

My star table cloth is not so big, only 19 " in square, but I think it is a real cutie.

Thanks lovely Madame Samm  and our cheerleader Carol for organizing and putting it all together
and Robert Kaufman, Aurifil and Amanda Murphy for contributing with wonderful prizes.

Now hop over to the other participating ladies for today.
