Gammelmormors nåldyna och nålbrev/ Great Granny´s pincushion and needle book

I have been addicted to sew Great Granny´s blocks and I belong to a QAL.But this time I have even gone far behind that is normal to me I have sewn to blocks 5 inch square and 4 inch square. It is Kimberly on Bitty Bits and Pieces who has reduced the regular blocks on 12 inch to this mini blocks. You cut the colored squares 1,25 inch, and I think they are small.
The first block became a cute pincushion. You could never get to many pincushions.

I really thought that the pincushion was fun to make and therefore tried the small needle case. But the squares were really tiny and a little difficult to handle, but I think it is very cute and I am very satisfied
that I even tried to make it.

Bowls with Borders / Skålar med kant

Hi
It is day 8 and  my day to show my bowls.
I am Britt-Inger from Malmö, in the south of Sweden, very close to the Danish capital Copenhagen. I can see the wonderful bridge between Sweden and Denmark from my balcony and windows.
I am newly retired and could have fun all my time with sewing, but in fact there are many other things to enjoy during retirement. But I must admit that my sewing time take many hours of my free time. The quilt bug came flying over me and bit me very hard for about twelve years ago and since then there have been many quilted things coming from me.
The quilting is not a big thing in Sweden among  the other hobbies, but for me and my quilting friends  it is a very big thing, as we are a very addicted circle of ladies.
I am not so fond of paper piecing but I have several times visited Regina´s site and looked at her wonderful patterns. When this blog hop came Bowls with Borders I couldn´t resist signing up. And it has been sew fun, collecting fabric for the project and sewing it.
Here is my plastic bin from Ikea, where I have some tiny scraps for small quilting projects

But it is so boring to tear off the paper and these tiny bits of paper have a fancy to choose the every other place than  the wastebasket.
I started with this table runner or wall quilt and as you could see I had some problems to stop sewing, there are 28 bowls in this quilt. And as I am a great fan of Kaffe Fasset, I have choosen some fabric of his design in both the bowls and the borders. The quilt is quilted by machine and with some FMQ also.

As I told you, it was very hard for me to stop and I then decided to make another quilt. I did this layout as a cupboard with three shelves and with nine stacks of bowls. And boy what fun I have had to choose fabric for these stacks. I am also a great fan of fabric designed by Laurel Burch and therefore some of the bowls have her cats and dogs. I am not a cat fan, I like cats, but I love dogs even if I am not an dog owner. As my pets are cockaties , I have then choosen to decorate some of the stacks with birds and flowers, the birds and flowers  are from my own drawing. The quilt is machine quilted and the appliqué is made by machine through all  the three layers.
The best thing with these two quilts is that every piece came from my stash and collection of scraps.
Isn´t that good to have everything at home and not buying fabric.

Thank you Madame Samm for hosting this blog hop and the amazing and heavy job that you have done and Carol being the cheer leader and Regina for giving us the pattern to make our different versions of this fun pattern.
I have now showed you my Bowls with Borders  and here are the others today
