Say it with Flowers My day and a Give away

First of all I have to send a great thank you  and several  big cyber hugs  to lovely madame Samm, the manager of one more blog hop and to Carol on Just let me quilt.

When I saw the theme, I had in my mind to make something with prints of  Swedish Summer flowers.
And I have in my stash some vintage fabrics from a Swedish fabric company, that doesn´t exist any more, some  tenderly preserved fabric from Borås Textil, that I have bought at least ten years ago, when the company was  closed but the prints was issued more than twenty years ago.

The fabric that I have used have images of these flowers and they feel so much Summer for me. Here are some pictures of the flowers.

Prästkrage Daisy a wild flower in Sweden
Gullviva Primrose
Förgätmigej For get me not

Smörblomma Buttercup

I started to fussy cut the flowers to make the center in wonky stars. For the points I have bought some gingham fabric that I thought would suit the mild color. I have an idea thinking of the stars giving a very light impression floating in the background fabric.
But I didn´t realize that this composition gave me a big area of negative space that I have to work with in my quilting.
I took a tour down town to a park with my bike today to take some pictures
from the table cloth that was finished yesterday evening

For the binding I have chosen the fabric with wild strawberries with both berries and flowers.

Now to the give away!! I have another vintage fabric with tussilago, coltsfeet and I will make a small string purse with some gingham as lining. In my childhood I used to pick some tussilago flowers to mom, as they were the messenger of Spring.

This purse will go to one of them who comment my posting today. I will announce the winner after this blog hop is finished and post a picture on my blog.

Now when you have seen my flowers hop over to the other flower girls for today
